Moving in a hurry!!!!
Let’s get straight to the point; it can be downright stressful when you have to move from your existing home to your new home in a month’s time. Here are some tips that will help your transition smoother. Know your must haves, prepare as much as possible and be realistic.
It is very common for us to have a foggy idea of what we want. Would you agree that it will be easier to get what we want if we knew exactly what it was? When time is running short, you must purchase a house now, the common theme is to look at more houses! This is a logical approach; however after about the first five homes either every home begins to look alike or it becomes difficult to remember what was special about one home and the reasons why you and your family should stay away from another. I suggest clarifying your must haves in the home that you desire. Sometimes that foggy picture of your dream home just won’t assist in producing the results that you are after. A general criterion that you can use is: Area/Location, The year the home was built and the Neighborhood. Once you have established this criterion, I suggest that you dive into the details of what your home must have. If you are like me, this can be a challenge. Sometimes we just don’t know where to begin. If this is the case for you, contact the Rivers Team, we have the tools and resources to help you clarify your needs and to help you get the home that you are looking for.
Before you begin your search, find your Realtor and embark on the adventure of house hunting, it will be very wise to talk with your lender. This is one of the most important aspects of preparation. Your lender can and will help you clarify the price range that will assist you in making a prudent financial decision. I am pretty sure that you can afford more home than you are willing to pay for monthly, your lender will layout what home price ranges will help you accomplish the monthly payment you desire.
Okay, you have spoken with your lender, you have hired your Realtor and you have even embarked on the adventure of housing hunting, what’s next? The next and final step begins with you and you alone. The next step is to make the decision to purchase the home that you desire when you see it. I have seen home buyers step foot in the home of their desires, say this is this one and then say but I need to look at more homes. Indecision at any level leads to an opportunity. Do yourself a favor and make the right decision when the opportunity presents itself. Keep in mind that some people make the right decision immediately and for those that do they understand the benefit of getting what they want and for those who don’t they get to receive the “only if I had did this “memory. Remember; when you find what you are looking for, seize it!
